i'm 20 years old and been bulimic for about a year now. my sister has caught me once throwing up and i just said that "i was sick", also my mom has suspicions because of the weight loss. But i want to stop it, because the other day i woke up and had trouble breathing and i had chest pain throughout the day. now, i dont know if it is a cause of my bulimia but im pretty sure it is. My problem is that i can't stop thinking about purging. like i would eat a normal small meal and all i could think about is when would be the time to purge in order for no one to hear me, while im eating it.
The trouble breathing is caused by the chest pain, because, when you have chest pain, breathing causes further discomfort.
Without a doubt, you should go to your doctor.
I also think that you should sit down & just think about what the reason could be for the purging & why you feel the need to.
It would benefit you to sit down & write positive aspects of your physical appearance because the disorder is caused by a distorted body image & the disorder only worsens this cause.
If you have problems thinking of many positive aspects of your physical appearance, elaborate on the ones that you can.
Then look at those features in the mirror for confirmation of the compliments you'd just written.

You are slowly killing yourself every time you purge. If you do not succeed in committing suicide you are harming your body beyond repair.
You need to let someone know what is going on, and accept that you need help. If you don't you could very well kill yourself.
Did you know that if you continue to do what your doing you are risking not ever being able to have children. That is just 1 side effect, there are many life long side effects from doing this to your body.
Please do your future a favor and get yourself the help that you deserve. You deserve to live a happy, normal and functional life.
The one thing you will quickly see once you get help is that you are not alone there are many young woman your age battling bulimia.
