i need some suggestions. My best friend and I (25\f)are planning on taking a vacation in the next couple months. We will have a limited amount of cash and can travel either by car or plane. We live in the north west. I would prefer somewhere warm where we can swim in the ocean, but not limited to that. Does anyone know the cheapest way to visit hawaii (plane tickets, hotels, etc) flying out of San Francisco, or the cheapest rates on a cruiseline? we will probably be gone about a week, give or take. I also would be willing to hear all other suggestions or ideas! thanks

We never go through a travel agent, my dad uses Expedia and has found that they have the cheapest prices. If you stay on the beach it's obviously going to be more money but if you're staying in the Waikiki Beach area of Honolulu (Oahu) then almost all of the hotels are within a block or two of the beach. I don't know exact figures as far as pricing goes but I'm sure your plane ticket will be less than ours (coming from NY). June through early August is when the prices are the highest. Along with the spring break area. September and October are the best times to go and the weather is still in the mid 80's everyday. (If you feel like waiting that long). Waikiki is really fun. They always are having some sort of festival. I went in August and they were having this huge week-long surf festival with games and booths on the beach. I won some t-shirts from Roxy and a couple razors. lol it was pretty sweet. Also! NEVER rent a car in Honolulu. The traffic is rediculous and the bus is just so much cheaper.
If the Hawaii doesn't work out for you then you can always try some east coast beaches. Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach, Miami, Cape Cod (New England is beautiful).
