How does popcorn get made in the bag when u put it in the microwave?Isnt it a big block of butter before you put it in the microwave?Wouldnt the butter melt and not make popcorn?
It has something to do with the chemicals used to make the imitation butter blocks and other things they coat the corn in. Now, if it's causing them problems do you really want it for yourself? There's usually trans fat in there too.
If you aren't sure what's in it besides the corn and how it works try turning to a place that sells kernels of corn in bulk. Get a popping machine and add your own butter. It will be far healthier.
Basically what happens with the microwave bag is that the kernels pop and get coated in that block of chemicals that make the artificial butter and flavors as the heat continues to increase. The block melts in synch with the popping of the corn as both require the same exact heat and time to cook and to coat.
