That would depend on what the "something" is that you can't open on the MAC. You should try calling 1-800-275-2273 for technical support at Apple. These guys are great and will help you within minutes with your problem.

In rare instances when they can't over the phone the best place to go is www.apple.com or .ca in Canada and set up an appointment at an Apple Store where you can bring in your machine and they can fix it on the spot or tell you how to get it serviced if need be. They're very good and the advice is often always free.

In Canada the number for tech support is 1-800-263-3394. To top things off THEYMOS and DANGERNERD are the computer and tech experts on this site send them a message through their columns and see if they can help via our site.

I have an IMAC myself from 2006 20 inch 10.4. If you hit my private inbox on my column with MORE info such as what you were trying to open, error message if any and what if anything else appears in the blue bottom I might be able to assist.

The problem with your question is that it leaves all of this unsaid. It would be in your best interest to click EDIT and put more detail in about what you were trying to do on the MAC when it happens. Right now, there simply isn't a lot to go on for people who want to help you.
