In my state, the legal age of consent is sixteen. So theoretically, if I was sixteen, could I legally have sex with someone who is 18? Or would that be statutory rape? Even if there's only a two year age difference, would having sex with an 'adult' be illegal?
So could I have sex with him or am I just jail bait?

There are some exceptions. For instance, some places the age of consent in 18 IF the person you want to have sex with is over 21, or if they are in a position of power, like a teacher or a doctor, then it's illegal. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]

So, a 16 year old could legally have sex with a twenty year old (though i really dont think thats a good idea) and an 18 year old could have sex with anyone.
