Question Posted Tuesday February 3 2009, 9:00 pm

im writing a paper on a midsummer nights dream. it has to do with the theme of dreams, the dream realm, and how to dream realm mixes with the real world and causes confusion and misconception.. things like that. what are some specific examples from the book i could use? quotes would be great too, if you can think of any. thanks!

Here is some dream quotes:

"Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;
Brief as the lightning in the collied night." Act 1 Scene 1

"I have an exposition of sleep come upon me.
" Act 4 Scene 1

"My Oberon! what visions have I seen!
Methought I was enamoured of an ass." Act 4 scene 1

" I have had a dream, past the wit of man to say what dream it was." Act 4 Scene 1

"If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear." Act 5 Scene 1

What you could also do is maybe incorporate Sigmund Frued, A very famous phycologist (I can't spell) and his study of dreams, the road to the subcounsious. An excerpt from his Book The interpretaions of dreams is here "[Link](Mouse over link to see full location);

Basically what Mr.Freud beleives is that dreams are a subcouncious way at looking at what we face in the real world. So I guess you can describe it that way.

Well I hope this helps,
