i brush my teeth every day and floss everyday too. but for some reason i feel like my breath smells terrible always. im always chewing gum and mints but after i finish with them my breath feels funky again. i dont know if its all in my head but i really do feel my mouth smelling and being dry. even if i dont chew gum or mints, like after i brush my teeth and then go to school, i always taste a really bad taste on my teeth. i know its definetly not from the toothpaste. midday it happens too if ive had a snack or even if i didnt.. i cant describe what it tastes like other than to say it tastes likes garbage. and when i drink my water from my waterbottle, i can taste the grossness i taste on my teeth. i really dont know what could be the problem. i honestly take really good care of my teeth and have exquisite hygene. i would never not take care of my mouth/body so thats why im so concerened about this problem. im also really nervous if someone kisses me if theyll also taste what i taste. what could be the cause of this awful taste/bad breath? has anyone else experienced this bad tasting teeth thing when they slide their tounge on their teeth? what are some solutions? PLEASEEEE HELP!

Heres the thing a lot of people don't do and then end up getting bad breath.
They don't eat their fruits or vegetables!
So if you have about 1 or 2 servings of mainly fruits per day, then your breath will be fine :]
But since you say its really bad breath, then I suggest you eat about 2-3 servings of fruits per day for about 2 weeks or so. Then you should just eat like a fruit per day.
Strangely, it works!
Over the Summer time, I would eat fruits 24/7. So it felt great :] Over the Winter, I slack a bit, so it does effect my breath a little. So if that happens to you, then just eat some fruits right away. I recommend you eat at least one fruit per day though.
PhenomenologicalTigerSpit answered Saturday January 24 2009, 11:29 pm: For the past few months I've been ADDICTED to Listerine mouthwash. It's pretty intense but it leaves a really good taste in your mouth! If it burns too much for you, try diluting it with water. Also, make sure to brush your tongue really well. That makes a huge difference. [ PhenomenologicalTigerSpit's advice column | Ask PhenomenologicalTigerSpit A Question ]

GoAskMellie answered Saturday January 24 2009, 12:58 am: I'm really aware of my bad breath too! It doesn't seem to be as extreme as yours, but I'm always self conscious of how my breath smells and if other people can smell/taste it too.
I know you said they don't really work for you, but try strong breathmints like altoids (I personally like BreathSavers STRONG MINT, peppermint flavored with Menthol) or a strong minty gum. You might have to experiment a little with what gums/mints work best for you.
If you still can't find anything that works for you, try asking your dentist if there is a special toothpaste or something to get rid of that bad breath!!!
Hope I helped... Seriously let me know if you find a solution, I could use one!!
