Hi.I am in middle school and I am worried about getting my period for the first time. I am too shy to talk to people. How do you know if you are about to get it? What do I say to my mom when it happens? Also, what do I do if it happens at school or at a friends or something?
And I totally understand the fact that you're kinda shy to talk about it, same here. I hate talking about it, IDK why, makes me feel uncomfortable.
Buy anyways, There really isn't any signs for when you're going to get it for the FIRST time, there might be some craming, and you might have a bigger appetitte then usual, also you may get dierria. But after the first time there's usally the same symptoms, and you know after that when exactly you're going to get it.
When you get it, just tell your mom, I mean it's harder for the girls that have to tell their dads about it. She'll understand you perfectly, I mean she had to go through the same thing, so it'll be alright if you just tell her you need to talk & just tell her you started.
If it happens @ school, just put paper towels on your underwear and then go to the nurse and tell her exactly what happened, she'll most deff. send you home & give you a pad/tampon.
If you get it at your friends house, they'll understand, well if it's a girl. & if she's on it, it'd be even better because then she can tell you what to do, don't hold back & not tell her. If you do get it @ a friends that is on it, just ask her for a pad/tampon & also tell her it's your first time. If she's not on it, then just call your mom & tell her what happened, she'll understand, once again don't worry, it's nothing bad (:
