to come or drop down suddenly to a lower position. or it could mean to become less or lower, become of a lower level, degree, amount, quality, value, number, etc.; example: The temperature fell ten degrees. Stock prices fell to a new low for the year.

or it is also the season Fall, like fall winter, summer, autumn.

fall can mean two different things in america. One meaning is the season. Such as spring, winter, summer, and fall. In fall, it is chilly and windy outside, it is the time when all of the leaves on the trees change to pretty colors and eventually come off.

Fall can also mean to drop. For example, if you fall off a ledge, or if you spill milk, the milk falls off the table.

Your question was not stupid, I always have questions about what different words mean in other languages. :-)
