Question Posted Wednesday December 24 2008, 9:56 am
I'm going to Florida next monday and I was wondering if I could prevent getting my period with the birth control I'm on. This week (until sunday) I'm taking my last set of hormone pills. Then I start the placebo pills all next week. Should I not take these pills or is there no way that I have a chance of it not coming? And if that doesn't work, is there anything else I can do to prevent it? Thanks, 17/f.

Like, take the placebo pills this week and get your period over with so you'll be period-free the next week and take the hormone pills then. [ heyimcaro's advice column | Ask heyimcaro A Question ]

When you mess with your pills, sometimes, you'll have a two week period, depending on how long you've been on the pills. If you've been on them a long time, your body is use to your period, and it will continue on its normal week, even if it does start the week before.
While in Florida, just wear tampons, that should be fine, and it dont hurt to get in water with them, it doesnt fill them up or anything.
Hope I've helped. [ AnonymousAdvisor's advice column | Ask AnonymousAdvisor A Question ]
