competing with boyfriend

i feel like i'm always competing with my boyfriend. we both really love each other but like he always tells me how im "good at everything" and then he tries to do something im okay at but not too great at and be better than me...is this normal? i honestly don't think im good at everything...can anyone give me advice?

I agree with the answer above me, but I'd also like to add that some guys have an e-go and want to feel superior [or very confident] It's not necessarily a bad thing, but he probably wants to be better than you at some things because it makes him feel like more of a man, if that makes sense. And he might be feeling a little self concious around you because you can be naturally good at the things he isn't. It's pretty normal, it happens alot with couples. :] don't worry.

Er, its a guy thing. Guys want to try to impress women by being good at more things than them. If you do better at more things than he, he will most likely find ways to try and make himself seem better. Its nothing that's out of the ordinary, though it can get out of hand if things get too far. He just feels intimidated and feels you do good at everything you do and really just wants to impress you that he can do what you can't. Competitive or not, its how most guys are...
