make up = eyeshadow

when make up artists say "tap off the excess on eyeshadow from the brush" wont the pigments in the color go away and the color wont have pigmentation on the eye cause you tapped off some color duhhhh

If you happen to accidentally put too much eye shadow on, then simply tap some off. Not all of it, obviously, but enough so it doesn't sprinkle onto your eyelashes and face and create a bit of a mess.
Also, if you didn't quite get the desired look first time round, go over it again. You don't need to pile the eyeshadow onto your brush.
Practice and you'll see.

You tap off the excess so you won't have too much on the brush. If you have too much on there, it'll fall onto your face which would not be good at all. You really don't need too much on the brush to get the color on your eyelids if you're using a decent eyeshadow.
