Is it true that each time you turn on your computer your electric bill goes up more. They say that its best to just put the computer on sleep instead of turning it off.

Computers use a lot of electricity when they are on. Turning on your computer, though, doesn't use any *extra* power. Sleep mode uses less power, as does turning off your monitor. Hibernation uses no power at all.
