Question Posted Saturday November 15 2008, 3:06 pm
I have a lisp like the one Stacey has from Zoey 101. How can I get rid of it because people laugh at me when I talk and I think i'm normal but people don't like me only because of how I talk. How do I get rid of it????????And if I can't will guys still want to go out with me no matter how I talk? Thanks.
If you do get t the point where you can't be bothered with it, just make a routine, that each night, or morning, you practice saying a different word but increase the difficulty of it and try to not say it with yor lisp.
It will make you unique but if you really don't like it, remember that it's a normal thing and you will realise that you're not the only one with it. Seriously, you just think that it's nothing different but it makes you say words diferently than some others.
As long as you don't think it's your fault that you have a lisp, you perfectly fine.

Also, I myself used to have a slight lisp, although it was never bad enough that I had to go to therapy. I sortof grew out of it, but now and then it comes back, and people laugh a little and imitate me, but my friends (guys too!) tell me that they think its charming. My friend used to have a lisp, and she went to speech therapy.
However, she always had boyfriends. They thought her lisp was adorable, so it depends on the guy. Guys will want to go out with you no matter how you talk, some are just jerks and suck at life :]
