My Nintendo DS lite is being really weird Right now, I'm overseas in England (just making sure you know all the factors). My DS needed to be charged, so I got out my international adaptor and plugged my DS to it, and it to the wall.
And nothing. No charging of any kind. At all. No light on or anything.
So, I figured maybe it's because the voltages are different, so I bought a energy converter. It works charging my laptop, but again, no response from the DS lite.
I know DS batteries tend to need to be replaced and such after some time, but I don't think that's the case. Is there a problem with my power cord, the battery, or what? And if so, how do I get a new one, not lose my firmware data, and replace it?

Use a multimeter to see if the actual input voltage matches the input voltage written on each adapter. The problem is most likely from your first adapter, but you'll see when you test. If the problem started as soon as you entered Europe, then the voltage/amperage/frequency difference is almost certainly the problem.
Nintendo might also know what to do. I would call them first. ]
you could contact the company that makes nintendo DS and ask them. My verizon cell phone used to hold a charge on a charger i bought at wal mart and one day it just stopped working. they sent me a new phone (sent it back) because i found the orginal charger and it will charge my phone. ]
