Take a pregnancy test.

The best time is in the morning, as your body has had all night to pump things like the hormones that indicate pregnancy into your bladder, so you are more likely to get an accurate result if you are pregnant.

If that one is negative, wait a week, and take another one.

If those are both clear, you can call a doctor if you like but 99.9% chance you are not pregnant, considering it will have been nearly a month since you had sex if not more.

Your chances are low. Missing a pill by 12 hours or less but taking it and continuing presents some risk but not that much. Plus, you were protected, and you said he didn't orgasm. I assume protected means condom.

More than likely not pregnant.

It should be "safe" to go on and take a home pregnancy test. The good ones actually say they can be taken a few days BEFORE your period is due to get a result.

After you have sex you actually do not instantly become pregnant--it can take days before the sperm find and fertilize the egg and then another 6 - 10 days for the egg to actually attach to your uterine wall. Sperm can live in your body for a long time--they've even been some found alive in a woman 2 weeks after being ejaculated inside of her!

This being said, it could take weeks to actually become pregnant after one sexual encounter. If it was 2 or 3 weeks after your sexual encounter that you begin to "spot" then it was about the right time for implantation--meaning you could have simply had spotting due to implantation bleeding (when the egg officially attaches to your uterine walls SOMETIMES it will cause very, very light spotting, much like you have described).

So, in short, since your period has already "missed" and it's been 2 - 3 weeks AFTER the sexual encounter it's pretty safe to go on and buy a couple of home pregnancy tests and take one now. I'd probably take one every week for the next 3 or 4 weeks before heading back to the doctor so they could take some blood and do a pregnancy test that way.

Some home pregnancy tests are better than others, obviously. According to a couple of studies done, First Response and Early Result Pregnancy Test are the two best kinds to purchase because they are slightly more sensitive than the others.

I suppose you can find either of these at your local pharmacy or Wal-mart for a reasonable price.

For future note, condoms are only 88%, typically, effective on preventing pregnancy. That means that out of every 100 sexual encounters between people, 12 women will become pregnant. Condoms DO NOT protect from STDs--which can be carried by VIRGINS.

The hormonal birth control pill is only 92% effective with typical usage (something they "forget" to take into consideration when they claim 99.9% effective). So, that means that out of every 100 sex encounters, 8 babies will be conceived. The Pill also does NOT protect from STDs--again, which CAN be carried by virgins. The later you are taking the pill, the lower the percentage gets. The percentage can vary based on life stressors, poor eating habits, alternating the times in which you take it (and WHAT you take it with, believe it or not), and various other things.

The "pull-out" method is only about 75% highest effective on preventing pregnancy. The number actually fluctuates between 29% and 75%. This, of course, doesn't protect against STDs either.

Relax, purchase a few home pregnancy tests, and take one already. If it shows positive, you are DEFINITELY pregnant. If it shows negative and your period doesn't come by this time next week then take another one--repeat for a few weeks before heading back to see the doctor.

I hope all is well. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me! :)
