There are a few differences:
The Canon PowerShot sd1000 has an optical viewfinder, which is a big deal to me, where the Canon PowerShot sd750 does not.
The Canon PowerShot sd1000 is a smaller camera overall, so it has a larger screen and the camera itself is smaller. Quite an accomplishment.
Something else to consider: These aren't the current models. Very important.

They are exactly the same except for their appearance and screen size. They have the same sensor and similar software.
