new kitten

Question Posted Saturday November 1 2008, 11:32 pm

so im getting a new kitten on friday! she is 5 weeks old and is adorable! Problem is...I don't know what to name her! Ive searched cat names on the internet but haven't really liked anything.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

above is a picture link. She is the kitten all the way at the bottom =] she's so cute and i want a good name for her.

And also, I have another 7year old cat in my house. Do you think she would run away or not get along with a kitten? She is also a girl.

And is there anything I should teach my kitten to do while its still little? Like for example, when you get a dog, you teach him when hes little, the rights and wrongs, like only going to the bathroom outside...is there anything you would teach a cat? just wondering.
thanks!

Oh God she's so cute! :D

These are the names that she strikes me as;
-Jenna
-Lucy
-Olivia
-Emma
-Fluffy - haha just kidding.
-Sophie

Hmm. What's your other cats name haha. That usually helps me a lot.

Now, cat's are already very intelligent. You just have to make sure you watch her to see if she has to go to the bathroom. Generally after a few times of you showing her the liter box, she'll understand and use it. Oh and if you want her to go outside, you must wait a really long time, so that she can adapt to her new surroundings and she won't get lost. Also, it helps if you put the liter box outside so she gets the idea that she's supposed to go outside. Make sure you watch her while she goes if you do that though.

Now. Cat's will adapt to "No!" very quickly, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I personally, have never been able to train a cat for tricks haha. But kittens are extra playful, so make sure you play with her :D

When I got my cat, my other cat just got really jealous and grumpy. She won't run away or anything like that. She may hiss at the kitten, but soon the other cat will learn to tolerate and/or like the kitten. :]

kittens / cats i believe are more of a comfort pet. They cuddle up with you and like like to play. If there are things she is getting into tell her no. I had 7 cats and my cat would always get jealous of a new kitten. just give them both attention
