pain after 14 years from caesarian

Question Posted Monday October 27 2008, 1:20 pm

So i have two children and they both were delivered through the caesarian method. And i have been steralised, (got my fallopian tubes cut or stitched, don't really remember). And now, after about 14 years, I get these strong, unbearable pains on my one side, near my pelvis. Like at the ovary, and I just don't know what could be it. I have gone to a couple of doctors and scans, and they came back clear. The doctors saud that there isn't anything they can see or know, and just left me hanging.
please give me some advice, like anyone who has the same problems or anything..
thanks!

Well, I don't know that I can help, but I'll give it a shot.
I have also had 2 by c-section. Mine were 13 months apart (the second pregnancy was hard on the not quite healed abdomen...) However, my youngest is 7 months, and that is a ways from 14 years. I've also had tubal ligation.
I have pain in my incision area now and then.

When I asked my OB about it, she said basically what that came down to was the fact that, contrary to popular belief, c-sections are major abdominal surgery. They are not easy to overcome. They cut through everything, muscle and all.

My best GUESS would be that since those muscles and tendons will never be the same again, perhaps the scar tissue, or the weakened abdominal area in general is causing you trouble.

You said you have been to a couple of doctors, but have you seen any sort of specialist? I'm not sure what sort of specialist you'd need to see for that, but if you ask the doctor will refer you to one.

I don't know if that helps, but I hope you get it figured out. Those pains are nothing fun to have to live with.
