im moving in to my boyfriend's apartment and its deffinately a bachelor pad. his parents own the building so we can do whatever we want to it but let me describe the current condition. white walls, old furniture, stained industrial carpet. the bathroom has a hole in the wall from when he punched it after getting mad at his ex. it has a bedroom but its tiny. his bed is actually two twin beds pushed together and with the beds and the dresser in the room we have about 2 feet on one side to get into bed. he used to sleep on the couch because his brother lived with him too but now he just moved out.
basically, the place needs help and i dont know where to start. he trusts my decorating ideas because he knows i wouldn't paint the walls pink and put up pictures of flowers. i actually like masculine designs.
ok so this is what we need.
-style
-space saving
-storage
-durability (we're party people)

Well first things first, fix the hole in the wall. if you just leave it there, it will probably get worse. if your intrested in painting the walls, i suggest painting one wall in the living room (or where ever your guests usually are).A color i would suggest is a green color. The reason i say green is because i read in a magazine that it is an energizing color. So i think that would be a good color since you guys are party people.
If he likes masculine things and you like masculine things then thats great! Most couples can't agree on home decor. My suggestion is to, together, think of a theme for your living area and kitchen. Set a day to go shopping for decorations that suit your themes. A place i suggest going is IKEA. It has some pricey items but also fair priced things. Another place i suggest is Walmart. They have a great selection on home decor, especially for the kitchen.
Now about the bed. If you both plan on shairng a bed and your comfortable with two twins pushed together, then i say if you want to keep them, keep them. If not get a double bed that suits your taste.
I hope my ideas help. Thanks for reading! [ life_luv_music16's advice column | Ask life_luv_music16 A Question ]
