Okay, so I have long-ish bangs that I sometimes let go clear across my forehead or sometimes I sweep them off to the side. But the only problem is, they are giving me acne wherever they touch! Seriously, just about the only acne on my face is on the line that the bangs touch my face (pretty much draw a straight line across from my eyebrows). I would pull them back more often, but I have sort of a strange hairline that is a bit too high and a bit too angled for my liking. And my nose is slightly less than delicate. So I don't really feel good about drawing attention to those features in order to let my face heal. How can I solve both of my problems? Tell me what you think! Oh, I have an oval face, if that helps.
Additional info, added Monday October 27 2008, 12:54 am: Oh, I just want to add... my facial proportions are very long, as in my forehead is just slightly smaller than that of Tyra Banks. And when I say my nose isn't exactly delicate, I mean that it's a bit to big for be to feel comfortable with no bangs to downplay them. But my bangs are really damaged from using a hot straightening iron on my sometimes-still-damp hair every morning. How do I repair the damage AND keep my acne away WITHOUT making my nose and high forehead really plain to everyone?. Want to answer more questions in the Miscellaneous category? 1. Some people don't wash their hair every night, and that's fine if your hair can handle not being washed daily. If you don't wash your hair every night, I would suggest doing so. Or if you don't really like to or would not rather, what you can do is wash your bangs simply in the sink (preferably shampoo, no conditioner) before you go out.
2. Wash your face at least 2 times a day. Once in the morning, to wash away the oil that builds up durning the night and once at night to nix the oil and/or make-up used during the day. Try some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball after washing your face or even an astringent.
3. Not having bangs makes wonders of your face. It really helps the acne problem. Even though you feel you have an odd hairline--no one else even notices, I'm sure. The oils from your hair builds up on your face and produces acne, so when your hair isn't on your face, it reduces the risk of you getting acne.
I'm not too sure I understand your nose problem. If it's delicate as in you get acne easily, then definitely wash it alongside of the alcohol method I mentioned earlier. You might also want to try a good acne cream like Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel by Neutrogena. It helps prevent breakouts and heals current breakouts as well.
