british airways commercial song

Question Posted Saturday October 11 2008, 3:01 pm

I must've seen this commercial for British Airways like, three times this morning.
It's like an airport but inside is underwater and there are a bunch of seals and whales and things swimming around.
I remember the seals the most, though :]
Well I was wondering what the song on the commercial was?
I remember at the end, the two seals were swimming together and the last of the lyrics was 'goodbye'
I know it was by a lady.

It is Julie London. I knew her and she was a wonderful sultry singer and actress. She earned a gold record for "Cry Me a River" in 1956 or 1957. She recorded over 20 albums. She quit her singing career in the late 1960s and went on to play the role of nurse Dixie McCall in the TV series Emergency. The show also starred her husband; song-writer and musician, Bobby Troup who was most famouss for writing "Route 66". He played Dr. Joe Early in "Emergency". Julie died in 2000 a year to the day after Bobby died. She was exquisitely beautiful and lot of fun and a terrific person and mother. Her first husband was Jack Webb with whom she had 2 daughters. She and Bobby had 3 children together.
