best friends; hanging out w/ friends

Question Posted Sunday September 28 2008, 3:43 pm

11th grade girl

i talk to a lot of people. im friendly. im even on the vball and lacrosse teams. but i dont know how to make myself a permanent part of their "group".

i dont hang out with any particular group. i never hang out with the closest thing to a group i have - recently they went to applebees and didn't invite me. they said it wasnt on purpose though.

it's like when people have parties and get togethers, they forget to invite me. or when people list their top friends on myspace or facebook, im not on it. i guess it's bc i never hang out with them?

it sucks, esp. since it's 11th gr and it feels like i dont have a sturdy group of friends. i never went to homecoming bc i didnt know who to go with. i didnt want to go alone. this year i want to go but it feels like i wont have any groups to go with.

im not desparate to make friends. im not a wannabe. and i'm not depressed over this - just a little sad. it's like, i dont let other people determine how happy i will be, but it hurts to feel like you have no bffs, you know?

i had a couple of bffs when i was younger, in 2nd-6th and in 7th grade. but now, for some reason, i am no longer able to become close enough to a person or people to call them my best friends. and the girls who were my best friends before, for some reason it has become awkward for me to talk to them. and now we dont talk at all; they have their own groups.

so mostly, im just confused.

i wish i could hang out with people more and i wish i could get into a group.
but how do i start?

im sorry if some parts of this dont make sense. i typed this up in stream-of-consciousness style

I know how you feel.. thing is that in life we only have 3 or 4 friends don't have to be in same group. that what i Have. I have couple friends I am not in a group. I think that a good thing becouse if you go that group all the time you wront know what your missing. if you want to be part of it. join them. try make something talk about whta they like to talk about. or you can let them know that your free hang out anytime that you want get out of the house sometimes lol. likey you can go around meet other people and just be your self. it ok have younger friends. kids be your freinds to becouse you know what becouse they be more fun and not worry and talk about problems all the time lol. i mean I have few freinds are in group but now we all grown up and can't do everything together. let them know more about your self. and freinds don't talk to you becouse they in differnt group are not your true friend. hey in 11 grade is harder year. i been there. all my freinds going to graduate and i have few freinds younger then me and i didn't now what to expect. but thing is just stick around people your in class with or lunch. find somone who sititng by there self and be there freinds. they are shy one maybe but they are the one like have least one friend. hope i help
