how do hormones influence when people do stupid things (e.g., have unprotected sex)? i know it's an "in the moment" sort of thing. but. like how strongly do hormones affect a teenager?

i'm 15f.

Hormones aren't the only thing that influence teens into certain situations. Communication can mislead a person if they are told what they want to hear and not whats going to happen. Certain events that happened in a persons life can alter their decision. A majority experience can make you think that because everyone else has done it, that you should too. There are several other ways a person can be influenced to do stupid things...

Hormones are simply a scientific and biological excuse. There's no way of controlling them, and there's really no way to avoid them. You just have to be strong enough to think about what your about to do and the consequences...
