I'm trying to listen to a song backwards but it won't let me

I'm using audacity
I highlight a part
then I click effects, and Reverse
I hear like a quick squeek (like not even a milisecond) and then nothing at all

HELP PLEASE!!! :/

You have to be doing something wrong. If Audacity loads an audio file, it will be able to reverse it. I've made you a video showing how to reverse audio in audacity (no sound, unfortunately):
