If it contains a lightener, it will turn your hair lighter. If it doesn't and the hair dye is for blondes who want to go darker - you won't see any changes.
If you want your hair lighter without bleaching it first, you can buy at home hair colourants (I use to use Loreal). It says it on the front of the box.

it will turn orangish. go to a hair stylist to have it done for you it's pricey but worth it if you want good results.
