I went to a party 2 weeks ago. Well while i was there, i met this guy and i thought he was pretty cute. Well we were just talking as friend kassandra is his friend. Well, i thought he was cute so she told him that. He said i was pretty but he liked some other girl to. So, two weeks later (last night) i went to another party and he was there and he started coming up and talking to me and giving me hugs and all that. He got my number from one of my friends and he said that he was going to call me when he got home from the party. Well, he never called. I'm sure something came up or something, but that's only half my problem. I am not good talking to the guys i like. I naturally get nervous and don't know what to say. I am really shy and i've tried to be the best outgoing person i can but it just dosen't work. So, when he does call me, i'm not sure what to say or talk about. I mean, me and my last boyfriend always had those awkward silences on the phone and i hated it. Before he knew i liked him, i had no trouble talking to him but now since he knows, it's awkward. What do i do? What do i say?
Thanks!
The first thing you need to do, is take a deep breath and ignore the butterflies that start flying around in your stomach the second you see his name show up on the screen of your phone. When you see it's him calling, just make sure to stay calm and act like you're talking to your best friend or the person you're most comfortable with. If you don't let yourself get nervous, and you don't think about saying something stupid, the chances of you having a great conversation will be MUCH higher =]
That being said, start by asking how he is, what he's doing, and/or how his day went. Then, try talking about your interests. For example, you can say something like, "Oh, today I saw a preview for this movie and it looked really good. Have you seen it/Do you think it looks good?".
Or try finding a common interest. For example, one of my friends and I are both really into the TV show LOST, so whenever LOST is on, either him or I will say something and that will immediately spark a conversation. So, find something you're both really interested in and go from there.
You can also always talk about school. Ask about his classes, his teachers and what he thinks about them, etc.

I had no idea what to say, and figured I'd be making a fool of myself, however I got the nerve up, called and just talked about "simple" things until I became more calm then we had a casual conversation as if I would with a friend.. As in "simple" things, I mean things such as music, games, or whatever it is that you and him have in common that is simple (hobby, job, ect.) and then take it from there.. That's what I did..
