Sinusitis..

Question Posted Friday September 5 2008, 4:00 pm

Okay so I finally went to the hospital last night and the doctors told me I had "Sinusitis" today I went into the bathroom and I must of spit out like 4 mouthfuls of yellowish, bloody, greenish mucus. However.. I coughed up something weird...and it didn't look normal so I poked it (sorry to be disgusting...) and it felt like it was a peice of skin!!! Omg.. It was hard and omg it was gross and Ugh.. I don't know what the heck it was or what to do :(

Ok, well first and foremost, something like this warrants a call to your doctor for information.

Having suffered the misery of sinusitis, most likely it was a glob of infection/mucus. Once you start on the antibiotics, all of the infection in your sinuses drain down your throat, causing you to cough up some pretty raunchy things.

It can also make you vomit. What happens is that when the infection drains into your stomach, your stomach rejects it, causing severe nausea and vomiting. When I dealt with that, I couldn't even keep down water.

Don't be alarmed by it unless you can't keep water down for 24 hours. If that does happen, call your doctor right away. Most likely you need to go back to the hospital so they can give you some IV fluid to keep you hydrated. Your doctor will inform you of what to do.

Not meaning to scare you with that last bit, but I want to be sure you are informed.

Get to feeling better soon!
