Is Sir John Hargrave of Zug.com a real Knight?

Question Posted Saturday August 30 2008, 4:47 am

Ok, I've become huge fan of the website www.zug.com
Anyway, most of the pranks and stories are written by 'Sir John Hargrave' is he actually a sir, or is it like a jokey nickname?

Nope, Sir John Hargrave, the creator of zug.com had his name legally changed to "Sir John Hargrave" at his local county courthouse.

He is subject to arrest if he sets foot in the UK, as a matter of fact. Well, at least that is what "Sir" John Hargrave says.

Now, if you get into his site, you will find he has changed his name to several things for pranks. Ashton Kutcher being the most famous of his exploits, I think.

Short answer, no he isn't. Anyone can be "Sir" anything in this country, if your local court clerk is friendly. :-)
