It has been 5 years so maybe he just likes you as a friend. But if you want to be more i would start leaving hints that you like him as soon as he stops dating this other girl. if he isn't dating her that by all means leave hints and even tell him how you feel. or you can have your best friend tell him.
Maybe this will make him finally notice you, as more than a friend.

If its been 5 years and hes still not into you, its time to move on. i know its a really hard situation, and you think you will never be able to get over it. trust me you will. its mind over matter. set your mind to getting over him, and it will happen. theres not a problem with you, your just not the girl for him. and obviously he is not the guy for you either. its time to find someone who will chase after you!
