Question Posted Tuesday August 26 2008, 12:30 am

okay so im on a verizon wireless plan and i pay 5 bucks a month for 250 texts well temporarily, but i have to be really be careful with not going over because my dad is very strict, and he'll probably kill me if i did, but the person i text the most has verizon wireless, so if i went over, would i have to pay still?

I used to have that plan, and it was 250 texts to ANYONE in and out of network. They weren't unlimited in-network texts.

I have a plan now, which is a way better deal than what you're getting. It's actually I think $10 a month, and everyone on your bill gets unlimited texting in AND out of network. So you could send 1,000 texts to your friend who had verizon, and then 2,056 [random number] to someone not in verizon, and it would still be the same amount.

But if your dad isn't willing to look into that plan, just be sure to count your texts like you're doing, because I know what it's like to go over on texting ;].

No, the person below me is wrong. If you have 250 texts a month, then thats how many you have. It doesn't matter what network the person you are texting is on. I made the same mistake thinking that texts to verizon costumers were free, and my texting cost my parents over $100. So don't make the mistake I made. If you ever not positive how many texts your allowed call verizon. Or even change your plan so you have unlimited texts to verizon and 500 to everyone else. It's only $10 a month, and you wont have to worry about going over.

Verizon has this thing called IN texting/calling. Anyone that has Verizon, has it. So, the text messages that you are sending to that person shouldn't count towards your limit. It's the text messages from someone with US Cellular, Sprint, TMobile etc. that count against you and if you go over you will have to pay then.

Basically, a message from a Verizon customer to a Verizon customer are free.
