i'm 15 and me and this guy are boyfriend and girlfriend for a week now. he's truely amazing and i do love him. the problem is that we have never been on a date before. we've seen each other because he goes to my school and we had classes together last year, and i see him when i have sports practice. so its not like we haven't seen each other for a long time. its just that we are both so busy that we can never really hang out just the 2 of us. so i need advice on what to do about this. is he really my boyfriend if we have never been on a date before? even when we see each other, we give each other hugs but thats it. no kiss, no holding hands or anything. and the reason for that is because we are always with other friends and we have never done that together before and it would be really akward. we would do it if we were alone but since we are not its kind of weird. help!!!

It's only been a week so I really wouldn't worry. But here's the deal: if you say you're boyfriend and girlfriend, then yes, you are. But if being boyfriend and girlfriend means more than just words to you and you still haven't dated or done anything more (such as kiss, hold hands, etc.) that you feel constitues as being girlfriend and boyfriend in a few weeks, I'd take a step back and look at this--are you guys two friends that have chemistry or two people who want to be something more?

But the point is if you consider yourselves a couple then you're a couple. You don't need to rush into the private stuff. However if you guys don't do anything as a couple then it probably just feels like you two just like eachother. There's a difference between liking someone and dating them. Make sure that's clear with you too. Btw using the word love for him when you've only been "dating" a week is a little fast. I mean, love him as a friend i guess, but (now, i'm not saying there's a time limit on how long you have to know someone to fall in love, and i'm not saying anythings too fast) but at our age (i'm 15 too) love is a stronger word then most teenagers can grasp- this includes myself. Plus, guys scare easy. I wouldn't get TOO serious with him.
