Wigs

Question Posted Tuesday August 12 2008, 9:11 pm

Okay so I have really damaged hair. It's super short because I tried to cut off as much of it as I could so It wouldn't be as damaged. It looks terrible. Its two different colors because I don't want to dye it anymore. I want to get a wig until it starts to grow out and isn't as damaged. It just sounds embarresing to me, And I don't want it to like blow off or something..lol. Any advice on what I should do?

go to a stylist about every month and have her keep trimming your hair till your natural color comes out and your hair is restored. keep your hair healthy by washing it and DEEP CONDITIONING!!! trust me it works...if your scalp is super dry try hot oil treatments witch are super easy and you can do it at home.
now if you want a wig to cover your hair while it's under construction, then get one! lots of ppl wear one and they usually have clips under them that you secure to your hair. i think wigs are a cool easy way to change up your style especially if your lazy...;]

My best friend is in this same position and I know alot about hair and products for it. The best thing to do is to just NOT PUT ANYTHING more into it. Let it grow out and as it gets longer keep trimming off the damaged parts until your hair is completely new. I know it will take a long time, but you have to be patient or your beautiful hair will never come back. Just deal with the fact that it will look funky for a while. Let it grow, and condition everyday. No straightening, no crimping, no curling, no dyes, no hairspray if possible.

I'd use Clairol Natural Instincts to even out the color if possible, and find styles that worked. Maybe a ponytail, or straighten just the front, scrunch the rest?

It's only hair, and it'll grow back soon enough. Plus, you'll have less damage too!
