Question Posted Friday August 8 2008, 4:13 pm

I want to get a tattoo on my ankle for my 18th Bday.
I want this tattoo, but on my ankle.

Can anyone explain how much pain it is? Or tell me a place that would be less painful?

It really depends on the place your going..i have a tattoo on my lower stomach.I thought that it would be really painful but it wasnt.there was some discomfort but nothing serious. Just make sure you go to a professional Tattoo shop.

well,it depends on the person
if you can get a piercing, you should be fine
i have a tattoo of a peace sign on my hip
and it didn't hurt at all
just find a good place to do it,and it should be fine

I have never had a tattoo, but personally, I think that the ankle would be one of the LESS painful places to get a tattoo. That, of course, depends on WHERE on your ankle you want it to be!

As the others have said, it is a simple tattoo. Not the kind that requires fourteen hours of work over several days. And again, I've never had a tattoo and I do not intend to get one.

You also need to find an accredited tattoo parlor that is very hygienic, so go to the Better Business Bureau and check to see if there are any complaints against the tattoo parlor(S) that you want to have it done by. Do NOT allow a friend to do it!!!! You can also talk to the tattoo parlor operator about your first experience!

I don't think that it would be painful. I mean, it'll hurt a little bit because it's a tattoo. But's it rather small and not a lot of ink is needed. So, the pain won't be that great. The only places where it will hurt the less are the places that aren't right on your bone. Ex: Calves; inner arms; I'm pretty sure it won't hurt as bad on your back either.

Well, I can't really tell you EXACTLY how painful it'll be because I have yet to get my first tattoo, but if you plan on having it on your ankle, then yeah, I would expect at least some pain because of that bone right there. However, since it's such a small design, it shouldn't take that long to ink in, so at least it'll be over quickly. You should be thankful you chose a small tattoo instead of a full back piece or something like that. =P

I hope I've helped a tiny bit.
