Sex

Question Posted Thursday August 7 2008, 3:56 pm

Okay so
Me and my boyfriend are sexually active, but rarely. The times we do have sex we're ALWAYS protected.
The condom has never busted or anything like that... but I have a question.

Is it normal for periods to be 1-2 weeks late every once in awhile? I'm 18 years old... and I don't know I always have scares like this, I guess I'm just paranoid... but I've been getting the faint stomach pains that always come before my period.. but it's just not coming and i don't understand why. We probably had sex either right after my last period came or right before... I can't exactly remember, but either why it was about a month and a week or something ago.

So is this normal?
Please give me all the advice you can.

Okay, one more thing...

It just doesn't usually happen that often (my period being late I mean)... and it just HAPPENS to be late after the time I have sex ya know? So I guess that's why it's making me nervous.

Does sex delay periods sometimes?
.

ok I know all the others say don't worry but if I were you I would atleast take a prego test just in case.
My period was only 4 days late and I had the pains and everything and I took a test and found out I was prego. I also think the time you would could get prego is around your period.
It may be nothing but I would check if I were you!

Having a period be a week late is completely normal. Periods as teenagers are hardly regular, and periods as adults are hardly regular, too. Sure, some girls are lucky and it comes on the same day every month, but that's not always the case.

Like the other person said, if you stress about getting your period, it will delay. Why? I'm not really sure, I just know that that has happened a lot.

It doesn't matter when you have sex during your cycle, you can still become pregnant. Glad to hear you're at least using protection. Birth control is another option which you should consider.

It is perfectly normal. I honestly, do not know anyone that has a regular period to the point that they know the exact date it comes.

A lot of things can cause late periods. Stress is one of them. Even if you don't feel stressed, you probably are over-whelmed by something which can cause your period to be late.

Don't worry about it, relax. It'll come.

You could end up having your period every 35 days and it would still be normal. So yes, you're fine and everything, and yes it's normal.

The more you stress or worry about it, the later it comes. Just in case you didn't know that.

Hope I helped, let me know.
