thanks for your help! what are toric lenses?
also, do you have glasses in addition to contacts? i recently got a contacts refit and a prescription for glasses (my first time wearing glasse) now i have my glasses but theres something off about them. they have astigmatism accounted for but i had a headache when i put them on and took them off. is the prescription for glasses diff than contacts since contacts like wrap around the eye and glasses dont?

Toric lenses are special lenses to correct astigmatisms. They're not fully symmetrical, because they have to fix the 'defective' eye. When you first put a toric lens in it can be pretty blurry for about 5 minutes. This is because it's adjusting to your eye.

I have one for my right eye, and a regular lens for my left since only my right eye has astigmatism. Unfortunately the toric lenses tend to be more expensive than regular, depending on what you need done.

Also, I do wear glasses and my prescription does change a bit. I like to get my glasses separately from the contacts 'cause like you I get headaches when they account for my astigmatism!
