Question Posted Tuesday July 29 2008, 10:25 am

So i'm always giving advice hehe this is my first question... (i'm bored and want to see whats it like) but i really want to know..
Does anyone have tips on how to make your face look smoother or with less acne (anything like that)
and also is it true that pink shade blushes actually make you look with less acne or something like that???
It's just I have a date tonight with my boyfriend and I'd love to know any useful tips you could give me about this in general..
thanx :D

I am 55 years old and the most amazing thing happened to me. All my life I have washed my face with soap but my wife wouldn't. About 6 months ago I really started noticing blotches and rough spots on my face more and more. To keep from being embarrassed I started using my wifes face cleanser and cream without her knowing. After 2 weeks I dropped about 5 years off my face. I couldn't believe it! So don't use soap. She uses oil of olay products. She looks about 35 and is really 51. I proved it works. Also what you eat and drink comes out of the pores in your face. The less water you drink and the more junk food you eat plugs the pores up more and more. Hiding it won't help in the long run. Also the darker the color of your skin the less shadow you can see so your face will look smoother. Well tanned faces appear smoother and foundation cream applies better. I have a website that has great health tips and I am still adding material. www.healthfix4life.com

to get smoother skin, you could use a face scrub, or just use your regular face wash and add a tablespoon of sugar. this really gives you a nice glow and your skin will feel great-but don't do this everyday! to much scrubbing will irritate your skin and leave it available to acne!
the best way to deal with breakouts is to prevent them! wash your face twice a day and keep it moisterized, keep your hands away from your face so dirt and oil dont clog your pores, if you wear galsses clen them cause it can get pretty oily under there!
always take off your makeup before bed [if you always forget till your in bed then are just too lazy to get up and wash it-invest in makeup removal wipes and keep em by your bed!]
but if you have a breakout, don't cake on foundation(liquid!)...trust me, you will look horrible and everyone can still tell anyway!!!
use concealer and just keep washing...

hope i helped ;]

Well the most obvious way is to to keep it clean in the first place, using a treatment such as Proactiv works really well, but as you don't have time for that now, here are some other tips. Cover up always helps, a cream foundation goes a long way in covering up blemishes, but make sure you don't use too much or it will be obvious you are wearing it and it will look caked on. A powder over the foundation also helps a lot. The cream foundation helps not only becauser it covers up redness of acne but it also smooths out your face, and the powder helps finish the look off and give your face a natural look. I'm a big fan of Covergirl foundation and powder, however, their products are a bit expensive so don't buy them unless you are going to use them often. As for the question of blush, they do help cover up acne I think, but only breakouts that are on your cheeks. I think the pink kind of blends in with the acne and makes it look more like the color is blush and supposed to be there. Hope this helped =)
