today i got in a big argument with my stepdad, which isn't unusual for me but today i just got so mad at him. i was babysitting and he called to talk, he just says the same thing over and over and i couldn't stand hearing him talk anymore. i started crying then hung up and like i was breathing really short breaths and couldn't really control it then i got a headache and i was still breathing weird. i took an advil then it stopped in a couple minutes. this never happened before. was it a panic attack or something? i was kinda freaked out.
thanks!

I've been having them for quite sometime and mine is brought on the same way yours is - with arguments or something that makes you really upset (some people just have them anyway). It's usually a good idea to try to control your panic attack with the way that you breath, by taking deep breaths, thinking about things that make you happy, and for me - it helps to have air hitting me too (like a fan or air conditioner).

I've had the same problem since I was a child, and it happens because you allow yourself to get too worked up, and too upset over things. The best thing you can do is just tell yourself 'I'm having a panic attack, relax, calm down and it will go away'.
As for your breathing, when it starts happening, just start taking really deep slow breaths and within a few minutes, your breathing should return to normal.
