Hello there,

Looks like nobody here was brave enough to compile it from source and run it except you. ;-)

As this is something beyond the scope of my experience with Open Movie Editor, I will point you to Open Movie Editor support, and offer some alternatives as well.

From the Author of OMEditor's site:

Support for Open Movie:

Web Forum:

Email:

"If you want Support via Email, register at the Open Movie Editor Users Mailinglist, and ask your Questions by sending an Email to the Mailinglist."

The author of the OMEditor also says he can be reached via IRC:

"I am also registered at the Freenode IRC Network, so if you are familiar with that technology you can reach me via a private message to my username "oracle2025". (For private messages you need to be a registered Freenode User.) You might also see whether there is someone in the #openmovieeditor channel, but currently this place is often empty."

He also suggests alternatives for those who are having difficulty with his software, or find it not to their tastes:

Alternatives
Not happy with Open Movie Editor? Try those Linux Video Editors. All of them are free as in "Free Beer", and most of them also are also free as in "Freedom".

Cinelerra: (Probably the most complete and feature filled from my understanding.)

ZS4 Video Editor (Freeware):

Kino:

PiTiVi:

Stopmotion: (Link not working for me at the moment.)

Avidemux:

Vivia:

Scilab Aurora:

Here are a few things that I can add for you:

A site with instructions and tutorials for using two programs together:

Kino - capture and export.
Cinelerra - editing.

You have probably already seen:

Hope you find what you need.
