Those kind of bumps are actually normal in shaving in sensitive areas in general. The only thing it, us girls use shaving cream when doing to so our armpits, or otherwise, and we use soft deodorants and whatnot that generally keep the skin from getting irritated. What you have is a normal case of razor burn, where either you didn't use shaving cream, you had a blunt razor, etc etc. As the girl below me said, lotion would probably work. You can wait for the hair to grow back and then shave again using a better razor (maybe get a girls' one, I don't know), or better shaving cream to make it easier on your skin.

okay so im not sure if this will help you at all..but i figured its better than nothing..right?
alright so i am a girl and i do shave there..and i use this stuff called bikinizone. it takes away the red bumps..and itchyness. Now i know the chances of you going out and buying that for yourself is probably slim-to-none. so i would just try putting lotion or something that will moisturize on it. that way its not so dry. and they could possibly go away. i hope this helped!

That area is very sensitive (obviously), so shaving it most likely irritated the skin. There's also the possibility of ingrown hairs, which can be itchy and uncomfortable and not fun at all. The best thing you can do is just let the hair grow back and not worry about it- there's a very big possibility that if you shave again, the red bumps will be back. You could also just deal with the red dots if you (and your girlfriend) really dislike the hair- it's your call.
