Question about birth control pills

Question Posted Tuesday July 22 2008, 2:26 pm

Can birth control pills act as ECPs? For instance, if I were to have sex and I just started the pill about 8 days ago then had unprotected sex, does taking the pill mean I'm still safe? Or if there was a problem with the condom like it slipped off during say the 3rd day on the pill? Does the BCPs work that way?

I would wait at least 3 weeks before you have sex while on the pill. i mean if youve been on it for a week already, its prolly not fully into your system yet.
But if the condom slipped off during the thrid day on the pill, it prolly wouldnt protect you obviously. I'm just saying its different for everyone in a way it seems like but i dont think 3 days or even 8 would do any good.

The pill is only so effective, Whether you are on birth control or not you always have that 1% chance of getting or becoming pregnant. If the condom fell off that doesn't have anything to do with what the pill does. You should be safe yes, The pill is pretty protective. If you are still worried please take a test.
