You don't always need to pop a pill anytime you have a headache in my opinion. I know some people who literally do that for any pain, and its less effective, so they take more.

Here's some other things you could do (or at least I do them):
-Take a nice nap
-Take a nice bath/shower (you could even do that before the nap) and with relaxing/soothing inscents or bath salts are nice too
-Eat fruit (juicy ones) & drink water/juice cause you may be dehydrated
-The rubbing of the temples is always nice, but by another person. Lay down while thats getting done to you.

Hope it helped :)

im a pro at this kind of stuff. you probably are not drinking enough water. drink 8 glasses of water per day (you do not have to drink them all at the same time.) take advil and lay down. listen to calming music, have someone rub your temples. dont do it yourself because this does nothing. you need to have your arms by your side and have someone do it for you. slowly and softly. take deep slow breaths. falling asleep is also a very good thing because you dont think about your headache and in the meantime it goes away.

you probably just need fluids, rest and relaxation.
