Hiding Okay wow
major wake up call
I had never even though about this
until I read the lyrics to
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
My boyfriend NEVER takes me out anywhere
We just go to his house, my house
And occasionally the park which is
right by his house
I was starting to think I was a freak
And he didnt want to be seen with me
But hmm why else could he be hiding me?
Is he ashamed of me? :/

this song was written in '83 when women didn't play many roles in life. when she says "some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world" she is refering to being "tied down" to one man who won't let her "see the rest of the world" refering to other men and other opportunities. she is being taken away and saying girls wanna try new stuff and "have fun"
as for your boyfriend, could it be possible that he wants to be alone with you because he cares for you? if you truly like this kid it shouldn't matter where you are as long as you two are together. however if you talk to him and say "why don't we go see a movie" or "lets go out to dinner" i'm sure he be glad to. after all if you're concerned with him hiding you, i highly doubt he'd be dating you if he was embarassed of you. maybe he's not a public kind of guy. talk to him, the worst that can happen is that you see his point of view ]
I highly doubt he'd "hiding" you, y'know.
Maybe he isn't sure if you want to go anywhere.
You just need to talk about it.. or why don't you make a few suggestions about places you can both go. I'm sure he won't say no :)! ]
Try talking to him about it, or when you're hanging out with him try offering to go different places.
He might just be more comfortable at his house or your house.
I doubt he's HIDING you.
just try talking to him.
:]
hope i helped. let me know. ]
