why is everyone so in love with the jonas brothers?
personally i dont like them, and if i express my opinion everyone yells at me and says "how can you hate them you don't know them" and my retort is "how can you love them you dont know them either". but anyways im so sick of being ridiculed for not liking them, and i just want to know what the big deal with them is?
well disney really had nothing to do with me liking the jonas brothers. hah personally i think miley cyrus/hannah montanna is ridiculous, along with everything else on disney channel. at first i was skeptical and embarrassed to like them, but the more i listened to their music the more i really began to love them.
i really love their songs, and its refreshing to finally here songs NOT about love [year 3000, a little bit longer, hold on] and the songs they do sing about love, arent always about getting your heart broken or sex. its actually a breath of fresh air to hear something clean, without it being corny or annoying; and i think thats why theres such a big hype about them because people of all ages seem to agree. and as an added plus.. they are pretty hot too.. which doesnt hurt in the public eye =]
its perfectly fine not to like them.. but a lot of people do, so you cant ridicule them for that. the big jonas brothers hype is being compared to Beatle Mania, so yeah i guess they are kinda a big deal ;]. [ jenny13's advice column | Ask jenny13 A Question ]
y-vet_07 answered Sunday July 20 2008, 12:20 am: many people have their reasons most of the many obssesed fans that call them selves "true fans" only like them for their looks( i no this becuz my friends sister n her friends are like this)
but this truly i find only makes them fake fans because they dont appreciate anything but there looks.and im sure they've only heard the disney songs
im not saying all fans are like that so i dont want loads of hate mail! i just feel most fans are that way
me i personally do not like them but i find some of their music(not played on disney) to be pretty good so honestly i dont really understand what it is about them either but what ever everyone is intitled to their opinions and this is mine
"the jonas bros. are a big deal because there are 3 of them all different ages which widens the popularity in age groups almost all those age groups are old enough to critize looks therefore only liking them for...guess! THEIR LOOKS! that is were the money is..." [ y-vet_07's advice column | Ask y-vet_07 A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Saturday July 19 2008, 10:19 pm: Disney made them big. That's the only thing I can think of. Also, girls think they're cute. And since there are three of them, I guess that applies to young teens and older teens as well. I don't really like them either. They wouldn't be popular if they hadn't been discovered by Disney. Kind of the same thing with Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana... it's like people only like her because she's on the Disney Channel.

Personally, their music annoys me, and I don't like any of their songs.
I guess it's just cause girls think they're 'cute.' I've asked alot of people why they like them, and most of them say, "Oh, Nick's so cute!" I don't really see how that's a reason to like a band, but whatever.
Or maybe people just like them cause they seem like they're good role models and they seem like good people.
Who knows. [ xY0M0MMAx's advice column | Ask xY0M0MMAx A Question ]
Razhie answered Saturday July 19 2008, 9:01 pm: Its the same big deal there was with the New Kids on The Block, and Backstreet Boys and NSync... I know I'm talking ancient history as far as pop culture is concerned, but there it is.
They are a well marketed and well timed product for a demographic that has a shit load of expendable income and an infinate supply of ranging horomones.
The good news is that in a few years your friends will have moved on to obessing about real people, instead of heavily fictionalized media personalities. The bad news is, every generation has thier 'Jonas Brothers', be them the Monkeys, the New Kids or the Backstreet Boys... Until boy bands are not attractive to adolecents and young teens, they will continue to exist.
What you need to do, is stop taking it personally!
If someone told you that broccolli was awesome and you said 'No, I don't like broccolli at all.' would you bother getting into a big argument about it? No, of course not. You'd just agree to have different tastes. IT's the same thing with bands. Insteed of attacking thier precious little boy band, shrug your shoulders and say 'Nope. Don't really like 'em at all.' If the person you are talking too takes that personally, remind that that it is just a matter of taste, because that is all it really is.
People tease you because they are trying to defend thier fandom, if you stop being so critical, most of the ridiculing will stop. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
Cux answered Saturday July 19 2008, 8:47 pm: They've become so commercialized in partnership with Disney Channel, and since every little teenage girl watches Disney Channel at least once in her lifetime, they are most likely exposed to them.
Personally, I don't care for them- I think they are all talk and no walk. Their music is lame and I only like maybe one of their songs- but it was before I knew who they were.
People can't force you to like them. Just keep standing by your position, because there are a lot of people who agree with you.
They really are just a boy band whom every girl thinks is "totally super hott, lyk3 omg!", and it gets irritating, I know.
