i think he likes me but then again he has a girlfriend

Question Posted Monday July 14 2008, 4:56 pm

well i'm 14, female
and there's is this guy that i have liked for almost a year now and in the beginning of the school year we would both flirt with each other (like hugs and things like that) and i knew he liked me... but then he started going out with someone else and after that he made everything so akward between us and we both just stopped taking to each other
but he would always look at me with this look like he was sad or something
well the end of the school year came and i decided to tell him how i always felt about him
so i emailed him on myspace.com and said
that i know you're in love with her but i really like you.... and he read it but never wrote back so a week later we were both on at the same time and he says....."well why do you like me?"
so i told him and he says...." okay can i tell you something that you cant tell anyone? i mean i know i'm going out with.. her but i have to let you know how i feel about you"
so he told me that......" well on the first day of school when you walked into homeroom i was like woah!!! she's is absolutely gorgeous. but i wish that we could have talked more"
so i told him everything to and we kept talking till it was alomost two in the moring and the next day kept talking and the day after that...etc.
well what i wanna know is do you think he likes me?
or have any feelings or something!!
i think he likes me but his girlfriend is the only thing in the way!!!

You know. I went through the exact same situation once in.. I think it was 7th grade? I'm pretty sure.

Anyways, I was absolutely infatuated with this one boy. And there was only two problems.
1) My best friend also liked him &
2) He also had a girlfriend

We talked every night on ICQ, and he would ask me the same questions. Like, why do you like me? And why don't you ever talk to me except online? But the truth was, he completely ignored me at school, and was saying the same thing to my friend every night.

It really sucked.

The truth was, he didn't like me at all. He liked that I liked him so much. And he liked that he was getting so much attention, but as far as liking me? He didn't. I've come to the conclusion that he liked his girlfriend, because if he didn't, he wouldn't have stayed with her for as long as he did. I'm completely over it now, and realize it was just a crush, and if this is the way things turn out for you, just remember that before you know it you'll be looking back and saying, "Did I really LIKE him?!" It really is the truth. I pinky promise.

I have no idea if this is the case for you. But if you want to find out you need to state and ask the following things:

Do you like me?
Do you want to be with me?

If the answer is no to either of those questions, you need to move on and let him and his girlfriend be. If the answer is yes to both those questions, then you need to tell him to break up with his girlfriend if he wants to continue talking to you. If he says no, or gives any excuse to why he can't, then he has no intentions on breaking up with her, and once again you need to leave him alone.
