Cameras?

Question Posted Monday July 14 2008, 2:39 pm

I want a good and fast camera that is easy to use. I have a camera and it takes forever to turn on and when I want to takea picture at one given moment, it takes forever for it to load and then I miss what I wanted to take. Also it sucks out the batteries like no other. It doesn't last long and I hate it. Does anyone know a good quality camera that fits my needs and is at a good price range? I prefer Kodak but I don't mind finding a new brand. Thanks!

Hey there. For me, the problem with Kodak is that they don't really update the technology of their cameras. Sure, they have some high megapixel cameras, but nothing like Canon or Nikon.

Many of my friends have Casio Exilims. I've played with Nikons and Canons both, and it's just a matter of preference. To me, Sony is pretty overpriced- the Cybershot commercials are cool, but the Sony accessories are expensive.

My best advice is for you to go to Best Buy or somewhere like it and play with the point-and-shoot cameras in the store.

EDIT:
I just got a new camera, which I LOVE, but from what you've said it's not in your price range. Mine is a Canon XTi Digital Rebel. The only downfall is that it's so big. My sister had one too, but she got so tired of it that she recently bought a Nikon point-and-shoot. I can't remember what model it is (and I don't live with her) but I think it was around $200.

From there:

Hey. I am going to tell you about my wonderful camera I got two Christmases ago.

It does everything you want:
-Takes pictures
-Takes videos
-Has many different picture settings
-I have rechargeable batteries.. they were kind of on the pricey side, but they are definitely worth it.. you don't have to go out and buy new batteries every time they die.
-It is in your price range. You won't get too great of quality for under $150, so its good you have a larger range. But.. at the bottom of the page I give below- it has a certain website where it looks like you can find it at $119.99. That would probably be your best bet.

Here is a review of it that I found: www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A530/A530A.HTM

This camera has 5.0 megapixels, 4X Optical Zoom [You want optical zoom, not digital zoom- because digital screws up the pixels as you zoom and the picture looks really crappy], it has 18 different shooting modes, and if you have a larger memory card [I have 2GB] you can hold a lot of pictures/videos.

Now for my own review..
I love this camera a lot and it is a great investment. I take tons of pictures and videos.. and it is perfect for me. The picture quality is the best I've seen in many different digital cameras. My brother has one, and the pictures always come out having odd white spots on them. This camera doesn't do that, ever. I think you will love it.

The website I gave you can get a good discount =D.

I had this camera and I loved it:

But I broke the charger and had to get a new one, so I now have this one and I like it a lot, too:

EDIT:
Yes, the M763 starts pretty quickly and it's SUPER easy to use. The pictures look really good, and I loved the camera.

The V1003 isn't as narrow as it looks, and it takes a bit longer than the other camera to take pictures because it has some sort of a weird focus setting. But the pictures are a better quality.

Overall though, I'd reccommend the M763 over the V1003. =]
