Is this doable? I took a photo album to this store to show them this dress that I wanted something like to wear to my prom, and I got an emergency phone call while I was looking and left my photo album there. Since it was a little bit of a drive, it took me a while to make it back there. They had just thrown my photo album away like a few days before that, and the store manager said that they hadn't emptied their compactor yet since the photo album got thrown away, and so he was willing to disconnect the power for the compactor and let me dig for my photo album in the compacted trash if I wanted to.
I'm not sure if it's worth it or not. Part of me says that since it's a photo album, which is very book-like in that it's basically flat to begin with, so a compactor wouldn't hurt it very much since it's already flat. Part of me though thinks it'll be hopelessy ruined, even if I find it. Do you think I should take the manager up on his offer?

I think that if it has sentimental value then you should get it. If it is something that can be replaced then I wouldn't worry about it. If it is important to you then you try to find it but if it isn't that much then I wouldn't bother. ]
