School starts this fall and Im your plain Jane I guess;; one or two best friends, annoying quite critical overprotective older brother, and Im always having a bad hair day. Welll I wanna be a scene kid. Theyre so confident and always absolutely stunning but Im not allowed to dye my hair. My moms always been OCD about it. No joke! And no odd piercings. Thats my brothers rule.
But around here you dont see girls with ginormous hair teased in all directions looking like they survived some big crayola bomb.
The hair IS cut with a side bang, some fringe, little bows, skinny jeans are a necessity, but I guess they mostly dress...indie/boho/beachy chic? I dont know. Any tips on how NOT to be a poser would be appreciated.
Please no rude remarks
if you cant type anything nice, then dont type it at all :D

MistressSlipknot answered Saturday July 12 2008, 10:22 pm: Well, theyre are some 'scene' hairstyles that you dont have to dye your hair to do. Although, even if you wanted to dye it, you could always have the hair dye that comes out in one wash. Also, try to talk to your mom about this, your brother as well.
Explain to them (nicely) that youre growing up, and you should be able to experiment with your style. Its not like youre doing drugs or getting drunk every night. Tell them youre almost 18 and that you doing this regardless, and you need her support. Say 'It will grow back out, and the color will either fade or your original hair color will come back once it grows out. Say its not like it will be there forever, unless you want it done again. Try to be civil and try to have you mom listen to you. Tell her you need her and need her to listen. Tell her that you need her support. Maybe that will get her to listen.
However, wait on the piercings. Got my tongue pierced and wound up taking it out. :P
Just think about it, before considering too much into it.
Hopefully I helped :) [ MistressSlipknot's advice column | Ask MistressSlipknot A Question ]
Trauma answered Saturday July 12 2008, 7:26 pm: Please don't try to fit in with the "scene" trend. I know you think it looks good now, but you'll regret it when you're older. I know that's really not what you're asking, but why not make your own trend? Wear what you think is cute and be unique. You don't have to dye your hair or get piercings to stand out, either.
