Hand signal meaning?

Question Posted Wednesday July 9 2008, 2:19 pm

Today at summer school one of the guy came up to me and the following conversation ensued:

Guy: Hey Laura, can you hold something for me?
Me: What?

When he said that, he also made held out his hand and made some weird gesture with it. I've seen it before but I have no idea what it means, if it means anything at all. The gesture basically looks like this: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

So if anyone knows what that hand signal thingy means, would you kindly explain it to me? Thanks.
