Personally, I've never had a problem with that because I don't really do 45 minutes of balls-to-the-wall intense exercise, but if you do, then it would be better to break it up by a few hours. Sometimes when I do a long workout, I do something like jogging (or Tae-Bo) toward the middle so I don't die in the gym. So if it's really inconvenient for you to go work out twice a day, try doing aerobic exercises in the middle of your workout to stretch your muscles and "recharge" a little bit. It is often recommended that you do at least 30 minutes per day, so doing 45 would be fine.
